Bayumala, also known as Twin Waterfall because of the two parallel waterfalls , is an imposing waterfall located in the north-central area of Bali.
Bayumala is located in the northeast area of Buyan Lake within the Sambangan area. After driving down the narrow and steep path, there is a small area to park the car and from there you have to descend by foot for about 15 minutes.
The road is signposted and safe, but it might be somewhat complicated for those who are not used to hiking because it’s very steep and slippery.
Most part of the path is covered by trees offering shades for visitors; the whole area is very pretty surrounded by greenery and flowers.
The waterfall is gorgeous: it consists of a large curtain of fine waterfalls that caress the two main waterfalls.
Just on arrival, you can find a couple of wooden benches where you can rest and enjoy the majestic view.
A little further on there is a small wooden platform where you can leave the backpacks and go for a swim.
The water is cold, but worth getting wet for; you can swim perfectly and you can even go under the waterfall.
There is a small bridge that will lead you to a green area from where you get another beautiful perspective of the waterfall.
If you are in Bali, do not miss the opportunity to visit this waterfall. In my opinion, it is the most beautiful one because of the large number of water curtains that slide down. Just do not forget to wear proper footwear because the road is slippery.
