Today I want to show you Cala Mitjana, another unspoiled paradisiac beach located in the south of Menorca, that you should consider visiting if you are in this island.
Cala Mitjana is the natural outlet of the ravine that bears the same name; the beach is not very large, but the stretch of sand, powdery and white, is considerably big and beautiful.
The calm and crystal clear turquoise blue water, are an ideal place for snorkeling.
There are picnic areas sheltered under pine trees, so it’s a good place to spend a whole day, but there are no restaurants, so you must bring your food and drinks.
Most of the times you’ll find some hawkers selling refreshing drinks and fruit, but they are not always there.
What I like the most about this beach is a cliff about 10 meters high from where you can have fun and jump safely into the water.
And even more entertaining than that, for me, is climbing the cliff to jump again.
I could spend hours doing this circuit! 😉
I also recommend walking to Cala Mitjaneta, the little sister of Cala Mitjana, located on the right side.
It is a small sandy area that is sheltered from the wind, but that is not always present (depends on the sea level).
Anyway, even if the beach is not there, the walk is worthwhile as the views are gorgeous.
I like to go a bit further, to reach some rocks where usually there are no people.
If you want to make a longer trip, you can also walk to Cala Trebaluger, Cala Fustam and Cala Escorxada, but in this case you must go to the left side of the beach and follow the path “Camí de Cavalls”.
The truth is that it is a beach with many possibilities.
Here you won’t be bored!
And if you do not like any of the options offered, you can always lay on the sand to sunbathe or you can try some inversions! LOL
The thing is to be happy!
Access to Cala Mitjana
To reach the beach, head to Cala Galdana; before arriving you’ll see a signal to make a left.
Parking is now free (before it was paid), and it is about 10 minutes walk from the beach.
The back is uphill, so it may take you a little longer. 😉
See you at the beach!
Love and gratitude
