Honeymoon Guesthouse is a hotel about 5-minute walk from city center of Ubud; it is a 30 room property that retains a traditional atmosphere. The business belongs to a Balinese family, so the guest treatment is very personal and the style is authentic Balinese.
Just when you arrive at the Honeymoon Guesthouse there is a small cafe where a homemade breakfast is served and comes included with the price of the room.
Just next door is the reception, where I was always treated very kindly.
The rooms are scattered in a beautiful tropical garden, full of plants and statues and in the same area there is also a pool for common use.
I stayed 4 nights in the “Deluxe queen room”. The room is not luxurious but it is spacious, clean and comfortable and comes with a terrace where I spent many hours working at ease with my laptop. During my booking process, I was informed that there was no internet in the room, only at reception, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that the internet worked on my terrace and in my room.
The same hotel offers a free shuttle service to “Casa Luna” and “Indus” restaurant. The food is very good and hotel guests get a 10% discount.
I loved the Indus restaurant, for the food, the service and the location. From the terrace there is a beautiful view of the Tjampuhan River and the surrounding nature. Also on Mondays and Fridays people go dancing there as they have live bands playing Latin music.
As a bad point I would add that the menu is not adapted to food allergies and the employees do not have perfect understanding of that, so it is not easy to know what you can eat and what not to eat if you suffer from some allergies.
Hotel guests also have free access to the yoga classes offered at a property that is a 2-minute walk from the Honeymoon Guesthouse and also discount on the cooking classes they offer.
Bearing in mind that it costs 30-60 US $ per night, the value for that amount is very good. No frills but everything is clean, service is excellent and location is perfect.
