Noni is a fruit that from afar offers unappetizing appearance; its shape is like a potato, pale yellow with greenish tones and a few spots forming circles.
With closer observation you’ll start to smell an unpleasant odor that intensifies when you decide to peel it.
This is what it looks like skinless.
If you are brave and you decide to try it, you will find that the taste is even worse than the look and the smell this wonderful fruit has to offer.
Then you might wonder; why should I try it? The answer is simple; it is a fruit with a lot of benefits for your health.
Origin
It seems that they initially grew in northern Cambodia, although other theories show that it first appeared in India.
In the Pacific Islands it is quite well known, and has been used and consumed since 1500 years ago.
Use
They have conducted several scientific studies with positive results.
It is believed that all parts of the plant have healing properties: the root is purgative and febrifuge agent. The leaves are used as a tonic, febrifuge and healing of wounds, sores and muscle aches. By eating the fruit, we will increase our immune system and consequently will help to fight various diseases. It is said that it’s good for throat problems, diabetes, high blood pressure, depression, heart problems and other degenerative diseases. It is also good to relieve pain and reduce inflammation.
Apparently it is also beneficial for patients suffering from cancer disease because it might stop the growth of cancer cells.
It is also an aphrodisiac food.

Consumed internally
The truth is that the fruit can be eaten directly, but most prefer to consume it in juice, capsules or leathers because the taste is quite unpleasant.
Applied on the skin
You can apply the leaves and the lotion prepared from them or from the fruit to relieve muscle aches.
Dose
It should be consumed in small doses.
If you buy capsules, leathers or juices, read the instructions that come with the product. If you buy fruit, you should eat only a little bit (about the size of a cherry) daily.
Side effects
Overall there is no known side effect, but each person is different and it may create different reactions.
It is said that may be a little bit laxative, especially the first few times it is consumed.
It is also recommended to stop consuming it for about 10 days every three months.
My experience
The first time I tried it I was in Kauai; I had a muscular chest pain for over a week, so I decided it was a good time to experience the benefits myself.
First I tried the topical lotion on the affected area and the truth is that after a while I began to feel the effects.
That same day I bought a noni and took it home. I ate a piece of pulp for several days and the pain was slowly disappearing.
I also decided to try the juice and I am currently consuming one portion of the leathers every morning because I believe that even without any pain, it helps me to keep my health and to prevent diseases.
However, one day I made the mistake of eating noni at night, together with pure cocoa and it was like someone had injected adrenaline directly in my blood! haha
By nature I am already very active and talkative, but that night I was even more talkative! I wasn’t sleepy at all! My poor friend suffered the consequences, because I kept telling stories!! haha
If you are interested, this is the website where I bought the products.
Do you dare to try it? 😉
Love and gratitude
