The Samata is a luxury resort located close to Sanur, in the eastern part of Bali. It is a complex of private villas located in a green and quiet environment.
Samata in Sanskrit means “the state of balance between body, mind and soul” and this is precisely what they offer at this resort.
The setting is very quiet and pleasant, ideal for relaxing, meditating and connecting with oneself.
Of all the options they offer I stayed in the “one bedroom villa” with minimalist decor
In the center of the room there is a beautiful and comfy canopy bed overlooking the pool and the fields.
What I liked the most is the large amount of natural light that enters the room.
The bathroom is very spacious and from here you can access the outside bathtub.
The private pool is very small, but the views are beautiful; I liked sitting on the edge of the pool and watching the birds cooling their little feet in the water.
Also I enjoyed watching the sky at sunset time. I was lucky to witness a couple of beautiful ones.
If you want to socialize, in “The Samata” you will find several common areas: tennis court, spa, gym, yoga room, different pools, restaurant, etc.
They also offer some activities: I signed up for a walk to see sunrise from the beach.
Angga, the guide, explained to me many stories of his personal life and information about the area we were strolling through. It was a very nice talk.
Upon arriving at the beach we sat to enjoy the sunrise with a Balinese “mini breakfast”.
And after a while we returned; on our way back we stopped to visit some temples and we also enrolled some conversations with locals.
It was a very entertaining morning!
The restaurant is open air, in front of the main pool. I only went one day. I preferred to enjoy the rest of the meals in the privacy of the villa.
They offer a healthy and yummy menu. I loved the fact they have a whole gluten free menu!
This is an ideal place for all those looking to disconnect and relax in a quiet space.
