Today I want to explain what you can do in Menorca so you do not miss any of the most beautiful places on the island.
Go to the beach
All the beaches of Menorca are beautiful. In the south you will find the typical white sand beaches with turquoise waters and in the northern part you will see wilder beaches of reddish or golden sand.
There are beaches for every need: easy access beaches, beaches with restaurants and leisure services, virgin beaches, nudist beaches, etc.
Walk “Camí de Cavalls”
This 185-kilometer road runs the entire perimeter of the island, going through beaches, coves and wilder coastal stretches. You can do the whole tour or just small stages.
The road is marked with wooden stakes, so it is almost impossible to get lost.
Explore the sea
Whether doing snorkel, stand up paddle, diving, kayaking, jet skiing, sailing on a boat, windsurfing or surfing, you should not miss the opportunity to enjoy the crystal clear waters of Menorca.
You can do it on your own or you can rent equipment and/or classes at different beaches and ports of the island.
Visit the lighthouses
In Menorca there are 7 lighthouses scattered around the island.
My favourite to visit during the day is Favaritx and during the sunset I like to go to the Cavalleria.
Fall in love with the sunsets
I am one of those who thinks that a good day ends when enjoying the sunset. Luckily in Menorca there are many places to enjoy this special moment.
My favorite places are: Cavalleria Lighthouse, Son Bou Beach, Cap d’en Font, Cova d’en Xoroi, Punta Nati Lighthouse and Es pont d’en Gil.
Visit “Sa Cova d’en Xoroi”
It is a natural cave located in Cala en Porter that is enabled as a daytime bar and nightclub.
My favorite time to visit the cave is during sunset, but if you like to party, I also recommend going at night.
Stroll through Ciudadela
Some of my favorite areas are the historic center of Ciudadela and the port of Ciudadela. I like to go during summer at the end of the day, when is less hot and maybe eat at a restaurant.
Taste the gastronomy
Local products include Gin Xoriguer, Mahon cheese, sobrasada and ensaimadas.
The typical dish of the island is the lobster stew.
Walk around Binibèquer
Binbèquer is a small town of white houses with very narrow streets that is located in front of the sea.
Walking around there brings happiness in my heart.
Amaze yourself with the Talayotic ruins
The great diversity of prehistoric architecture of Menorca is preserved in very good condition. There are talaiots, tables, towns, caves and funeral halls.
Some of the most important ones are Sa Naveta des Tudons, Necropolis of Cala Morell, Torre d’en Galmés or Torralba d’en Salord.
Buy a pair of Menorquinas
Menorquinas are typical summer sandals of the island. I like them a lot because they are very comfortable and they look good with any type of summer clothes.
Climb “El Toro”
Menorca is a relatively flat island. The highest point is the Monte Toro, which is 358 meters high. From the top you can get the best panoramic view of the island.
